P. Diddy’s dream job
Despite being a high profile rapper, known for his extravagant lifestyle and wild parties,
P. Diddy said he wanted to be a garbage disposal man as a child. At the BET Honor Awards, the hip-hop star surprised the audience by saying he admired garbage collectors’ skill and said he liked to watch their “synchronised art and work ethic”.
The BET Honor Awards honours five black Americans for their achievements in areas ranging from entrepreneurship to public service and education. P. Diddy picked up the award for entrepreneurship, while
Queen Latifah was awarded the prize for media.
The event was a star-studded affair, with
Jennifer Hudson receiving a standing ovation by
Whitney Houston after she sang ‘I Will Always Love You’. Whitney also took out the award for Entertainment. The other recipients were educator Dr Ruth Simmons and neurosurgeon Dr Keith Black.
