Madonna's catty comments
Madonna has had yet another dig at
Lady Gaga during an interview discussing her support of the gay and lesbian community, but the strangest comment came in the form of a bizarre back-handed compliment about
Britney Spears.
In the March issue of
The Advocate the 53-year-old singing sensation was asked (once again) about her thoughts on the "
Poker Face" singer. Coolly Madge lamented, "I have no thoughts… What's the question?"
The
Material Girl finally opened up about her successor when asked about Gaga's influence on gay youth, revealing, "It seems genuine... It seems natural, and I can see why she has a young gay following. I can see that they connect to her kind of not fitting into the conventional norm. I mean, she's not Britney Spears. She's not built like a brick sh-thouse."
Uh, what?
Madonna then went on to say that Gaga "seems to have had a challenging upbringing, and so I can see where she would also have that kind of connection, a symbiotic relationship with gay men".
It's not the first time the mother of four has made snarky comments about Gaga whose song "
Born This Way" drew criticism for its similarities to Madonna's 1989 hit "
Express Yourself."
