Justin Timberlake says he was awkward and nervous growing up… until he discovered music.
“I think of myself as an entertainer, and that’s the only thing I’ve ever been decent at,” he admitted. “Other than that, I’m kind of a geek. I was very shy and timid as a kid, and it was only when I discovered the stage in school that a monster came out! I think my mum was happy that I stopped staring at my sneakers and learned to be more outgoing. There was this need to perform and express myself that had been bottled up.”
With a stellar resume that includes boy bands, a successful solo career and big screen stars, Justin revealed there are times in his past that he’s not so proud of. “I’ve had times in my life where I’ve felt drained and just wanted to stop. But that’s the result of being very driven and determined,” he said. “It took me a while, but I figured out that you have to make sure you’re happy with both your life and the work you’re doing.”
