Imagine a world where someone can tap into your mind, stealing your ideas and secrets to sell to the highest bidder. That's the premise in this bizarre adventure of subconscious espionage, which follows a group of dream chasers on a near-impossible mission. Infiltrating the mind of a client's rival in order to plant an idea rather than steal one - the dangerous art of inception - sends Dom Cobb (DiCaprio) and his team into a nightmare that may be harder to escape than they'd first thought.
Highlights: All of it - in fact, it's rare to find a film with such wow factor. Cleverly structured and woven through with astonishing special effects, Christopher Nolan's sci-fi spectacular is a wild ride, toying with you until the end. It also taps into emotional depths with a subplot involving Dom's wife (Marion Cotillard), a mysterious woman lost in her memories.
Lowlights: Like Nolan's
Memento before it,
Inception has the power to frustrate and infuriate, but really, that's all part of the fun - and it gives you an excuse to see watch it all over again!
