Alice In Wonderland

This reimagined version of the classic tale features Alice as a 19-year-old teenager who falls down the rabbit hole (again) and returns to her fantastical fairytale land, where she revisits old friends.
Now a young adult, Alice faces new challenges such as trying to put a stop to the evil Red Queen and feeling the pressure to marry a dorky aristocrat, along the way learning to be her own person.
Highlights: It has all the crazy, surreal visuals that make a Tim Burton movie. Helena Bonham Carter is great as the Red Queen, while Aussie Mia Wasikowska is thoroughly likeable as Alice. As a bonus, you get to see Johnny Depp do his "happy dance" - what's not to like?
Lowlights: The plot doesn't entirely make sense, and while the effects are mesmerising, the 3D element is a bit like looking through an old-fashioned View Master, causing the "wow factor" to fall a little flat.
