Stuck in a fitness rut? A new workout buddy could be just the kick-start your body needs.

Whether you’re hitting the gym, pounding the pavement (like Miranda Kerr and Heidi Klum) or exploring nature, having someone to commiserate with and feel accountable to can help you have fun and, in the process, achieve your goals.

Joining a fitness boot camp is a great way to meet new people who have the same health goals as you – or make like these fit celebs and rope in your friends and family for a social sesh!

Family fun

Sporty sisters Vanessa and Stella Hudgens know how to make the most of a beautiful LA day. The perks of working out with a sibling is that they’re brutally honest and will tell you when you’re not working hard enough, while a competitive streak will encourage you both to push yourselves harder.

Vanessa loves pairing up on a workout. ‘It gives you someone to look at and say, “I’m dying!” to,’ she says

Hot date

Khloe Kardashian
and her hubby, basketball star Lamar Odom, may be at different fitness levels, but working out together can benefit them both. While Lamar might push Khloe to go faster than she usually would, she can inspire him to try a different route. Sharing that post-workout high with a partner gives the relationship an extra kick.

“I am a competitive person,” says Khloe, who swears by having workout buddies.

Muscle mates

Nothing beats a good goss sesh to get your mind off that deep burn. A supportive friend is fab for trying out new classes or running tracks. We would love to hear what Anna Kendrick and Emmy Rossum have to talk about while they sweat it out!

"I try to do things in groups," says Emily. "I don't like a one-on-one trainer - too much pressure."

Perky pet

Whether or not you’re into the new doga trend – think dogs and owners doing yoga poses together, taking the downward dog to a whole new level – having a pooch is a great way to move more. While Kristin Cavallari’s pup may not be an ideal marathon partner, the incentive to go for regular walks is fab for getting into a healthy routine.

Kristin regularly works out with trainer John Damon – and her pooch Rocco!
