Move over, Prada! A bundle of joy is this season’s hottest accessory, with A-listers juggling their new bubs and bounced-back bods before their latest addition can even say “mamma”. And while live-in chefs and top personal trainers make shaping up easier than for the average mum, these stars have picked up some handy hints that translate to the real world. Here, we take a look at some of their tried-and-tested tips...
Jessica Alba
Yummy mummy Jess and her hubby
Cash Warren welcomed their daughter
Honor in 2008 and another little girl
Haven in August. She admits bouncing back after baby is hard work. “I can’t ever get down to the weight I was before I had Honor,” she laments.
While she hates working out, the stunning starlet opts for regular cardio and core-strengthening sessions. “I start by exercising for about an hour a day, then go up to three hours, five days a week,” she explains.
Jess’s top tip, however, is to watch what you eat. “I have a hard time with portion control, so I have 1200 calorie [5024kJ] meals delivered,” she says.
Selma Blair
The actress gave birth to her first baby
Arthur in July this year – and we can barely tell!
So what’s Selma’s secret? She’s following fellow actress
Alicia Silverstone’s book
The Kind Diet, which advises banning white sugar, processed foods, coffee, alcohol, animal products and artificial additives. “It helps my clarity and endurance,” explains Selma.
The 39-year-old is also a fan of Pilates and was recently spotted attending a class in a bid to tone up.
Kate Hudson
Blonde bombshell Kate and her fiance
Matt Bellamy welcomed baby
Bingham in July – and she flaunted a stunning post-bub bikini bod just a month later.
“I didn’t gain a lot of weight this time around,” boasts Kate, who put on more than 27kg carrying first son
Ryder – who she had in 2004 with rocker
Chris Robinson – after developing serious sugar cravings.
Postpartum, Kate’s been seen riding her bike around London with her Brit rocker beau – and her laid-back regime looks like it’s paying off!
Natalie Portman
Oscar-winner Nat went ultra slim in 2010 for her role in
Black Swan, before swapping a tutu for maternity wear.
“First you got me skinny, and now you’re getting me fat,” she joked earlier this year of the film’s director
Darren Aronofsky, who introduced her to her co-star and babydaddy
Benjamin Millepied.
But Nat, who gave birth to son
Aleph in June, stayed fit and fab during her pregnancy thanks to regular swimming.
